Sending AT commands through SMS and/or MQTT on Simcom

Hi,

I’m new to the forum  I’m developing a iot module with a Jetson Nano board. We have scripts that monitor the state of the module and reboots the SIMCOM SIM7600G-H when needed.

I’m investigating alternative methods to validate if the module is still active. Currently we have an issue with Vodafone that caused a nationwide outage in The Netherlands. 2 of the 10 prototype devices didn’t become active yet.

I want to know if it’s possible to send SMS messages that trigger GPIO pins on the device itself. Or and send custom messages to check status of the module. This without the Jetson Nano being active.
